Different Drummers, a regular feature on CBS2 Chicago, has highlighted CROSSWalk, a ministry that strives to decrease youth violence in the city.

CROSSWalk is based at All Saints’ Church in the Ravenswood neighborhood. The interview show, produced by Greater Chicago Broadcast Ministries, defines a different drummer as “a teen who’s not afraid to go against the flow and live out his or her faith in the real world.”

“We give teens of all faiths a voice through video segments created a CBS studios in Chicago and all over the world.”

Matthew Townsend is a Halifax-based freelance journalist and volunteer advocate for survivors of sexual misconduct in Anglican settings. He served as editor of the Anglican Journal from 2019 to 2021 and communications missioner for the Anglican Diocese of Quebec from 2019 to 2022. He and his wife recently entered catechism class in the Orthodox Church in America.
