Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has been discharged from the hospital in Virginia today and will return to his home in North Carolina.
“God is God and I have lived my life trusting in him,” Bishop Curry said. “And I believe the Church and the world are in God’s hands even when it may not seem like it.”
Presiding Bishop Curry expressed his gratitude for the team of doctors, nurses, and all “who have been helpful to me during the hospitalization.”
The presiding bishop will continue his healthcare regimen, which includes physical therapy and occupational therapy.
He plans to conduct a staff meeting on Monday via videoconference from his home about his placing three leading staff members on suspension.
Presiding Bishop Curry was taken to the hospital December 6 after a visitation to Bruton Parish Church in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.
