St. Luke’s is in a healthy place according to our recent parish survey of the congregation and multiple “listening” sessions with engaged members. Parish members are feeling wholeness, fulfillment and peace in addition to feeling purpose and passion with intention. Now is the time to turn outward and discern what God is calling us to do next with all of our abundance. Our next rector will be a key to growth and incorporating new people into the life of the church.

We need a rector who is exhilarated by the call and challenge of leading a church of St. Luke’s size, potential and unique gifts. That will require a senior leader who is a world-class preacher, is spiritually gifted and who will continue to build trust through transparency around information sharing and decision making and working collaboratively with the vestry and congregation.

According to the congregation, qualities of the St. Luke’s Rector include being approachable, warm, welcoming, respectful and accepting and also being genuine with integrity and a sense of humor. We pray for a Rector that can connect in-reach and outreach opportunities, create small communities within the church especially for families, children and youth with strong pastoral care experience. We find an overriding yearning for stability with minimal staff and program changes.
