Public Disciplinary Hearing Planned for Bishop Love

A panel of three bishops, a priest and a lay person will decide whether to sanction the Bishop of Albany for refusing to comply with the General Convention's decision to make same-sex marriage rites available in every diocese.

Bishop Love Responds

Bishop William Love: “I will abide by the restrictions placed on me by the Presiding Bishop during the appeals process.”

Partial Restriction on Bishop Love

“Bishop Love … is forbidden from participating in any manner in the Church’s disciplinary process in the Diocese of Albany in any matter regarding any member of the clergy that involves the issue of same-sex marriage.”

Title IV Complaint Dismissed

The concerns were not a Title IV violation, and Canon Michael Pipkin will take a leave of absence for a month of professional development.

Website Helps Explain Title IV

Title IV is confusing, poorly organized, internally inconsistent, and riddled with clauses such as “acts which are alleged to violate Canon IV.3.1(a) or to constitute a breach of Canon IV.4.1(b), (c), (e) or (h)(2).”
