Thirteen young adults are serving as missionaries in Young Adult Service Corps (YASC) during 2017-18 throughout the Anglican Communion. Five are continuing their ministries with YASC for a second year.
YASC is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for young adults ages 21-30 who want to explore their faith in new ways by living and serving in communities across the world.
Meet the missionaries
Sarah Anderson of the Episcopal Church in Mississippi teaches at the nursery school at St. John’s Seminary in the Diocese of the Rift Valley, Tanzania.
Elizabeth Bleynat of the Diocese of Western North Carolina serves with the Mission to Seafarers in the Diocese of Western Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Amelia Brown of the Diocese of Albany serves with the communication department of the Anglican Communion Office in London. She is the first young adult to serve in this internship.
Eleanor Duncan Campbell of the Diocese of Virginia teaches at Hogar Escuela in the Diocese of Costa Rica.
Aspen Gomez of the Diocese of Texas teaches at Hogar Escuela in the Diocese of Costa Rica.
Benjamin Hansknecht of the Diocese of Central New York works with the E-CARE Foundation in the Visayas Area Mission.

Lexy Fields of the Diocese of Florida works with social outreach and education programs of the Diocese of Costa Rica.
Zach Jeffers of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina serves with the Mission to Seafarers and will move to work with the Mission in Wellington, New Zealand.
Emily Kirk of the Diocese of East Tennessee serves with the Tsedaqah Community Ministry in the Diocese of Liverpool.
Kellan Lyman of the dioceses of Atlanta and Louisiana works with the E-CARE Foundation in the Diocese of Santiago, Philippines.

Matthew Townsend is a Halifax-based freelance journalist and volunteer advocate for survivors of sexual misconduct in Anglican settings.
