The Diocese of Western North Carolina has posted its profile and is accepting names in the search for its seventh bishop.

The diocese will accept names until Dec. 3, conduct walkabouts for nominees in May, and hold its electing convention on June 25. The consecration for the seventh bishop is scheduled for Oct. 1.

The Rt. Rev. G. Porter Taylor, sixth bishop of the diocese, has announced his intention to retire at the end of September 2016.
