Water justice will come into focus next year at Trinity Institute, Trinity Wall Street’s annual conference exploring theological and practical questions about timely topics.
To be held March 22–24 at the Manhattan parish, the institute will address initiatives related to “access, droughts, pollution, rising tides, and flooding,” according to Trinity’s website.
The event’s speakers include:
- Jeffrey D. Sachs, a Columbia University professor of economics, leader in sustainable development, senior U.N. adviser, and bestselling author
- Christiana Z. Peppard, a scholar on the ethics of fresh water and climate change
- The Most Rev. Winston Halapua, Primate of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia
- The Most Rev. Thabo Makgoba, Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa, and chairman of the Anglican Communion Environmental Network
“This conference, infused with spiritual principles and common prayer along with science and solutions, allows us to deeply examine what connects us, and empowers us to take unified, faith-based action on the front lines of the water justice movement,” the website says.
