The Rt. Rev. Shannon Johnston, Bishop of Virginia, announces that Tanya M. Howard is the diocese’s new communications director:

As a Suffolk-based communications consultant, an assistant professor in strategic communications at Hampton University, and an Associated Press-trained reporter, Tanya has compiled an outstanding record of experience and achievement. She led a team that garnered breakthrough media impressions in excess of 500 million for a Chase Freedom public relations campaign. She has won two of the highest global public relations awards offered by the Public Relations Society of America. She has served as First Vice President for External Affairs for Chase Card Services in Wilmington, Delaware.
