The Bishop of Tennessee has called the Rev. Andrew Petiprin as canon to the ordinary. Petiprin will assist the Rev. Canon Pamela Snare beginning in June, and will succeed her in February, when she retires.
“I am delighted to announce this new development and to welcome Fr. Andrew to our diocese,” said the Rt. Rev. John C. Bauerschmidt. “His call is the result of a process of discernment that began for me over a year ago, and has included conversations and interviews with a number of clergy of our church.
“During this process I have sought a priest with a primary commitment to parish ministry, who is willing to stretch for the sake of important diocesan work. I have also sought a leader from the next generation who can help to lead us in this next part of our diocesan life. I am grateful to Fr. Andrew for answering this call.”
Petiprin has served as rector of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Orlando since 2011, and served previously as a curate in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
He is a regular contributor to The Living Church, Covenant, and Key Life, and is a member of the Living Church Foundation. He has a book of Christian apologetics due this year from New Growth Press. He loves leading Bible study, and he writes and speaks regularly on prayer, modern culture, and beauty.
Petiprin is married to Amber, and they have two children, Alexander and Aimee, along with two cats, Kingsley and Remy.
