South Dakota Nominates 2

The Diocese of South Dakota has nominated two priests in its search for an 11th bishop.

The Rev. Jonathan Folts is rector of St. John’s Church in Essex, Conn.

The Rev. Mark Story is rector of St. Mary’s Church in Edmond, Okla.

For more information on the two nominees, see the diocese’s candidates page. The diocese will accept nominees by petition until March 8. The electing convention is scheduled for May 4.

Matthew Townsend is a Halifax-based freelance journalist and volunteer advocate for survivors of sexual misconduct in Anglican settings. He served as editor of the Anglican Journal from 2019 to 2021 and communications missioner for the Anglican Diocese of Quebec from 2019 to 2022. He and his wife recently entered catechism class in the Orthodox Church in America.
