Primates’ 2017 Communiqué

“In our last meeting in January 2016 we made a clear decision to walk together while acknowledging the distance that exists in our relationships due to deep differences in understanding on same-sex marriage,” the primates write in their latest communiqué. “We endorsed this approach, which we will continue with renewed commitment.”

Rowe Urges Strategy-Driven Executive Council

“You can only have a helpful evaluative structure if you have a strategy to evaluate,” Rowe added. “Otherwise you end up with what each individual board member thinks is important, a recipe for chaos.”  He also noted that “the staff reports to the CEO, not the board. This has been clear in our canons, but not in practice.”
