Preaching Conference in L.A.

The 2015 National Episcopal Preaching Conference, “La Predicación de Jesús: Preaching in Spanish,” will meet at the Cathedral Center of St. Paul, Los Angeles, March 5-7.

The conference is for people interested in preaching more effectively in Spanish and English — native speakers and those just learning, seminarians, clergy, and laity.

Featured speakers will be Justo Gonzalez, Cuban American Methodist historian and theologian; the Rev. Simón Bautista, canon missioner for Latino ministries and outreach at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral in Houston; and Arturo Bañuelas, cofounder of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians in the United States and pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, El Paso.

Workshop and preaching group leaders include Bishop Diane Jardine Bruce, Tom Callard, Anthony Guillén, Miquelina Howell, Luis León and Margarita Santana. Registration (includes meals) is $75 before Feb. 1 or $100 thereafter. Daily registration fee is $40.
