General Convention has met sometime during the summer for several decades, occasionally close to holidays. In 2015, the 78th General Convention met in Salt Lake City beginning on June 26. Its last legislative day was July 3.

In 2018, the 79th General Convention will meet at the Austin Convention Center, and its first legislative day is July 5. Convention will adjourn sine die on July 13.

“The Joint Standing Committee on Planning and Arrangements and the General Convention Office are already hard at work to plan and enhance our meeting in Austin for the 79th General Convention,” said the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, executive officer and committee chairman. “Building upon the successful innovations in Salt Lake City, and guided by the evaluations we received, the committee is excited about our meeting in 2018.”
