N. Calif. Elects Ariz. Canon

The Rev. Canon Megan M. Traquair of Phoenix has been elected eighth Bishop of Northern California.

Traquair has served as canon to the ordinary in the Diocese of Arizona since 2013. She was elected on the third ballot. The other nominees were:

Traquair’s interests include gardening, genealogy, hiking, and history. Her husband, Philip, is a pediatrician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. They are the parents of Hannah, who teaches high school in Tucson, and Benjamin, who is an engineer in Colorado.

The consecration service is scheduled for June 29 at the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts in Davis.
