Video: Bp. Magness on Just War

The Rt. Rev. Jay Magness, Bishop Suffragan for Federal Ministries and Armed Forces, addresses how changes to warfare require the church to revisit the nature of Just War theory.

Resolution A048, discussed in the Social Justice and International Policy Committee this morning, calls for the Church to “bear witness to the moral challenges to the Just War tradition and to the implications for security, privacy, and other human rights posed by evolving capabilities for cyberwarfare, by the integration of “big data” and robotics, and by the new types of combat enabled by these trends.”

Magness is a member of the committee.
