Six speakers will engage with the question of truth for the annual Lenten preaching series at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston.
“Hearing a wide range of voices from a variety of social locations is a critical aspect of living into our promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons,” said the cathedral’s dean, the Very Rev. Amy E. McCreath.
The series is scheduled for 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 7-April 11, featuring a simple worship service and guest sermon, followed by light lunch and conversation with the preacher.
Preachers will include:
- The Rt. Rev. Gayle E. Harris, Suffragan Bishop of Massachusetts (March 7);
- Sally Haslanger, Ford Professor of Philosophy and Women’s and Gender Studies, MIT (March 14);
- Regie Gibson, poet, writer, educator, and National Poetry Slam champion (March 21);
- Jonathan Cavillo, assistant professor of sociology of religion at Boston University’s School of Theology (March 28);
- Matthew Bell, reporter for The World on Public Radio International (April 4);
- The Rt. Rev. Alan M. Gates, Bishop of Massachusetts (April 11).
