Lenten Discipline: Speak Up

Please email comments to letters@livingchurch.org.

Church Army, which works through Anglican churches in the United Kingdom, has produced a series of Lenten reflections that dare people to do tasks that will inspire their evangelism.

Church Army’s Being Salt and Light series is based on Matthew 5:13-16. People who sign up for the resource will receive a weekly reflection and two dares, which the group hopes will help people grow in confidence about sharing their faith.

Church Army began as a society of lay evangelists in the Church of England. It now works also with the Church in Wales, the Scottish Episcopal Church, and the Church of Ireland.

In addition to the reflections and dares, Church Army has prepared a series of smartphone lock screens and computer desktop backgrounds to keep evangelism at the forefront of people’s minds.

Readers may register to receive Being Salt and Light email through Church Army’s website.
