In the cover story Gary G. Yerkey writes that the Rev. Malcolm Boyd, “who has served as writer-in-residence for the Diocese of Los Angeles since 1996, with an office at the Cathedral Center, became a ‘celebrity priest’ to his surprise in 1965 with the publication of a slim but edgy book of prayers called Are You Running With Me, Jesus? It became a runaway bestseller with an estimated one million copies in print worldwide. He says a review in The Living Church captured the book’s essence.”
