Interim Canon for Oklahoma

The Diocese of Southwest Florida reports:

Effective April 15, 2019, the Rev. Canon Michael Durning will begin an interim ministry as Canon to the Ordinary, Diocese of Oklahoma.

This one-year assignment takes place as the diocese continues preparations for the announced retirement of Bishop Edward Konieczny and the election of a Bishop Coadjutor.

Prior to his 2018 retirement, Durning served for 21 years as Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Southwest Florida. His roles have included Diocesan Transitions Minister and staff resource for the ordination/discernment process. Over the past 30 years, he has had parish assignments in Naples, Marco Island and Longboat Key.
