The Rt. Rev. Herman “Holly” Hollerith IV, Bishop of Southern Virginia, helped welcome his younger brother, the Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith, as the 11th dean of Washington National Cathedral on Oct. 23.
Bishop Hollerith preached at the cathedral’s Holy Eucharist at 11:15 a.m., and participated in the institution service at 4 p.m.
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry preached at the institution service.
Bishop Hollerith was born in Baltimore in 1955, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1983. He was consecrated as a bishop in 2009.
Dean Hollerith was born in Washington, D.C., in 1963, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1991.
They are both graduates of Yale Divinity School.
