New York police officers are investigating attempted arson at St. Paul’s Memorial Church, Staten Island, said a report on silive.com. First responders arrived around 2:20 p.m. after a crude firebomb was thrown at the church. The report said the NYPD’s hate crimes unit is investigating.

Police say an unidentified individual intentionally chucked the incendiary device through the front window, resulting in a small fire inside the church.
NYPD officials on scene said the church was “fire-bombed” with a device representative of a Molotov cocktail.
Nobody was injured during the fire and the church sustained only minor damage, the spokeswoman said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is on-going, she added.
Part of the Diocese of New York, St. Paul’s is based in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island.
