The Diocese of East Tennessee has published a 36-page profile as it seeks the fifth bishop in its 31-year history.

The Rt. Rev. George D. Young III, fourth Bishop of East Tennessee, announced in April that he plans to retire in January 2018.

The diocese will accept nominations and applications until Jan. 13. The diocese’s standing committee will receive a slate of nominees on April 28, and its annual convention will elect the new bishop on July 28.
