Church Seeks New Canon for PB

The church is accepting applications for the position of canon to the presiding bishop for ministry within the Episcopal Church.

The canon is a visionary leader, senior member of the presiding bishop’s staff, and primary implementer of ministries established by General Convention and the presiding bishop.

Information about the position and details for applying are available this page. In addition to completing the profile and submitting a résumé, applicants should submit a cover letter that includes at least three professional references. June 29 is the deadline to apply.

Matthew Townsend is a Halifax-based freelance journalist and volunteer advocate for survivors of sexual misconduct in Anglican settings. He served as editor of the Anglican Journal from 2019 to 2021 and communications missioner for the Anglican Diocese of Quebec from 2019 to 2022.
