Central Pa. Seeks 11th Bishop

The Diocese of Central Pennsylvania has posted a profile [PDF] and will accept nominations beginning June 6 in the search for its 11th bishop.

The Rt. Rev. Nathan Baxter has resigned amid persistent health problems, and the Rt. Rev. Robert Gepert has offered to serve as the diocese’s provisional bishop until the new bishop is elected and ordained and consecrated for the office.

June 20 is the deadline for nominations. The election is scheduled for March 21, and September 12 is the tentative date for the ordination and consecration. The diocese is based in Harrisburg.
