What started as a very kind but small gesture in Dunedin has caught the attention of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The volunteers working inside The Little Thrift Shop in Dunedin opened the mail early last month to a big surprise.
“It just makes it special. It’s so special that she did this,” said Miriam Benitez-Nixon, a volunteer at the store.
Miriam says she has always been inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Around the time when the justice was recovering from lung cancer surgery, Benitez-Nixon said a certain donation came into the store and it gave her the idea.
“The necklace just looked like her,” she said. “I said, ‘Oh! That is for her, no one could else could wear that.’”
