3 Nominees in Diocese of Texas

The Diocese of Texas has nominated three priests from within the diocese in its search for a new suffragan bishop. The nominees are:

“After diligent work and prayerful discernment with male and female applicants from inside and outside the diocese, it was our joy to present these three outstanding candidates for bishop suffragan to the Standing Committee for final approval,” said the Rev. Chuck Treadwell, chair of the Search Committee and rector of St. David’s, Austin. The Standing Committee met Nov. 26 to complete the slate.

“Each person brings unique gifts and disposition, and each has secular and church experience that makes them qualified to do the work of this particular office,” Treadwell said. “Each would work well with Bishop Andy Doyle and complement the gifts of our other bishops and diocesan staff.”

The diocese will accept nominees by petition until Dec. 3.
