Sixteen grants totaling $123,910 have been awarded in the second round of grant-making managed by the Advisory Council for the Stewardship of Creation. The grants were awarded to:
- The Diocese of Delaware, to begin a four-phase program of evaluating all churches in the diocese’s energy use and help with formation conversations on energy stewardship: $2,225
- Michael and All Angels in Issaquah, Washington, to fund a rain garden and a year-long theological educational program on water: $10,000
- Emmanuel Church in Newport, Rhode Island, to support hydroponic gardening with children; and food for a local pantry with a focus on developing meditation and worship materials to deepen reflection on God’s creation: $10,000
- John’s in Stamford, Connecticut, to fund a reforestation program with the Parish of the Good Samaritan in Grose Morne, Haiti: $10,000
- Community of St. Brigid at Church of the Good Shepherd in St. Louis, for a farm church program: $8,500
- Cultivate, the Episcopal Food Network: $10,000
- Church of the Nativity in Raleigh, to support low-carbon farming by building a network of interested stakeholders and hosting a farm summit: $10,000
- Support for the initial work at Bellwether Farm (Diocese of Ohio): $10,000
- Support for the Rock Point Program (Diocese of Vermont) to develop bee pollinators in the area of an existing solar farm: $10,000
- Columba Conference and Retreat Center in Memphis, for a bee pollinator program: $9,765
- Luke’s Church in Jamestown, New York, for educational materials about creation care: $3,000
- Kivalina Epiphany Church in Alaska, for a program to fund a pilgrimage to the West Coast: $8,000
- Catedral de San Pablo in Bogotá, to build a partition wall and add native plants to alleviate pollution in the area around the cathedral: $4,250
- Grace Church in North Garden, Virginia, for “Exploring Bioregional Spirituality in the Rivanna River Watershed,” a two-day conference: $8,000
- The Diocese of California, for “Eco-justice: Safeguarding Climate, Food and Water” conference: $3,500
- Church Divinity School of the Pacific for an intensive immersion class on climate justice: $6,670
