POSITIONS OFFERED: Organ Scholar/Adjunct Instructor of Organ, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Organ Scholar/Adjunct Instructor of Organ

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, announces the creation of an Organ Scholar internship for the 2022-2023 academic/program year.

Responsibilities include playing two of our three weekly Sunday services and participating in seasonal services as needed. The organ scholar would accompany one midweek choir rehearsal as well as a broad range of soloists and instrumentalists who regularly participate in Sunday services. Opportunities to conduct the adult choir exist, depending on the candidate’s experience and interest.

Candidates with a master’s degree in music may also serve as an adjunct instructor at nearby Middle Tennessee State University, teaching up to nine credit hours in organ lessons and accompanying as needed (pending approval by the School of Music).

St. Paul’s has a 27-rank, 2-manual 2012 Letourneau organ, and MTSU houses a 23-rank 1981 tracker action two-manual Cassavant. The church also owns three grand pianos, a harpsichord, and two octaves of Malmark handbells.  The organ scholar will receive weekly mentoring from our Director of Music.

St. Paul’s is a vibrant, healthy, program-size church in historic downtown Murfreesboro, TN, one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, 30 minutes south of Nashville.  St. Paul’s is forming people into the body of Christ, discipling and mobilizing an increasingly diverse membership into their varied ministries.
