Positions Offered: Associate Rector for Christian Formation

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Jacksonville Florida - This Associate will share in all the privileges of ordained ministry including preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and administration. He/she will assist the Rector in coordinating all Christian formation opportunities for adult parishioners and also oversee the ministry of the Director of Children’s Ministry and Director of Youth Ministry. This Associate will work to create a coordinated youth program designed to inspire and nurture Christian faith and service. St. Mark’s is a community of faith anchored in traditional Anglican theology and liturgy as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer. With a school year ASA of ~350 and an annual budget of ~$1.5million, this neighborhood church maintains a healthy balance of long-time generational members combined with those who are new to the Jacksonville community. Opening for rector to work collaboratively with rector in building this ASA 340 congregation in the catholic and reformational faith and worship of the Anglican tradition embodied in the 1928 Prayer Book and Articles of Religion, with special responsibility for ministry to young families (parents as well as children) and newcomers, and with oversight of ministries to youth, children, etc.  Requirements: sound theological grounding, excellence in liturgy and preaching, gifts for ministry to young families and newcomers, team work, initiative, leadership and organizational skills.  Fulltime. The University of the South invites applications and nominations for the position of Chaplain of the University. The University, an institution of the Episcopal Church, is a diverse community of scholars, students, and staff, and welcomes people of many faiths and loyalties. The Chaplain, a priest of the Episcopal Church, has primary pastoral responsibility in the University, working closely with the Dean of the School of Theology, the Rector of Otey Parish, and with a current staff that includes an Associate Chaplain, a Lay Chaplain, and an Organist and Choirmaster. The Chaplaincy supports a great tradition of Anglican music, an outreach program, a Catechumenate, and an interfaith dialogue.
