I am a priest in the Anglican Church of Canada and a doctoral student studying theology at Wycliffe College, Toronto. My theological interests are primarily in our understanding of time and history and the relationship these things have to how we read and use Scripture in our teaching and decision-making in the Church. Essentially, the relationship between polity, theology and metaphysics. Hobbies: xc and trail running, hiking, backpacking, chess, astronomy. Likes: People who think broadly and deeply and interact with charity (please see theological definition ala Augustine or Aquinas, not cultural) and passion. Dislikes: Ignorance. Lack of passion, focus and drive. Pop culture. Music: The Streets, Old Crow Medicine Show, Death Cab for Cutie, Josh Ritter, The Roots, J5, Mumford and Sons, Gregory Alan Isakov TV&Movies: No Country for Old Men, Fargo, Underworld, The Shipping News; Fringe, Grimm, Criminal Minds

Confession, repentance, and reception: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, I will come to you

One of the things I have been astonished by in my six years of parish ministry are the varied ways that self-hatred imprisons us...
