The Diocese of Pennsylvania has approved articles of incorporation that will streamline how the diocese handles property and requests for financial assistance.
In a video distributed before the diocese’s 235th convention, the Rev. Frank Allen explained the reasons behind the resolution that he proposed.
Allen began by telling of a priest who had to address three different diocesan bodies because each believed it lacked the authority to approve her request for a $15,000 grant to start an after-school program.
“We eventually found the money for her, and that after-school program has taken off,” Allen said.
