The Diocese of Western Kansas has announced three nominees — including a priest of the Diocese of Leeds who works in nearby York — in the search for its sixth bishop. The electing convention is scheduled for May 5, and the new bishop will be consecrated Dec. 1.

The three nominees are:

  • The Rev. Mark Cowell, priest-in-charge of Holy Nativity, Kinsley, and vicar of Sts. Mary and Martha, Larned, KS
  • The Rev. Mary J. Korte, rector of St. Stephen’s, Wichita
  • The Rev. Jonathan Singh, clinical manager of St. Leonard’s Hospice, York, England

More information about the three nominees is available through a seven-page document posted on Issuu, which follows.
