The next Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) will meet at the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, July 10-14, 2017. The Episcopal Church is planning EYE17 in partnership with the Diocese of Oklahoma.

“EYE is always a great event for both our youth and for our adults,” Presiding Bishop Michael Curry said. “I have attended many of the Episcopal Youth Events and I have fond memories of joining our youth in celebration, learning, and fun. EYE17 is a strong component of the Jesus Movement.”

“The Diocese of Oklahoma is excited about hosting the Episcopal Youth Event in 2017,” Oklahoma said the Rt. Rev. Edward J. Konieczny, Bishop of Oklahoma. “The youth are an integral part of the Diocese of Oklahoma, and hosting the Episcopal Youth Event is an affirmation of our commitment to their formation.”

EYE traditionally draws hundreds of youth from throughout the Episcopal Church. EYE 2017 marks the 13th EYE. EYE 2017 is geared for youth in grades 9-12 during the 2016-17 academic year and their adult leaders.

“University of Central Oklahoma, UCO, offers a great venue for EYE, with lots of room and great facilities for the range of activities we are planning for EYE17,” said Bronwyn Clark Skov, the Episcopal Church’s youth ministries missioner. “UCO is located just outside of Oklahoma City, so travel will be easy for all.”

Applications to serve on EYE17’s mission planning team are being accepted through April 30.

To be eligible for the mission planning team, youth applicants must be enrolled in grades 9-11 and must be a communicant of an Episcopal parish. Adult applicants must be at least 25 years old, a communicant of an Episcopal parish, and have experience working with high school-age youth.

Applications for the young adult pastoral care team will be launched soon. This is a great opportunity for young adults to serve as mentors. More information will be available soon.
