On Feb. 23 the New Jersey General Assembly recognized the Rev. Canon Sandye A. Wilson of the Church of St. Andrew and Holy Communion in South Orange and the Rev. Terry Richardson of the First Baptist Church of South Orange for their work in their community.

Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey (District 27, Essex & Morris Counties) selected Wilson and Richardson for the recognition as part of the assembly’s observation of Black History Month.

Mary M. Theroux, Jasey’s chief of staff, wrote to Wilson and Richardson of “your unwavering commitment to social justice and the way in which you have brought your churches into the community and the community into your churches.”
