Presiding Bishop Discusses Her Faith January 5, 2012 News Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori appeared Wednesday on Issues, Etc., a weekday program produced by Lutheran Public Radio. In a 26-minute interview with the Rev. Todd Wilken, the presiding bishop addressed questions of pantheism and panentheism; the identity of Jesus Christ; the Episcopal Church’s decision to consecrate bishops in same-sex relationships; the Anglican Church in North America; the emergent church; and the Atonement, among other topics. Wilken is a pastor in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Issues, Etc. began its life on KFUO-AM, which is owned by the LCMS and broadcasts from the campus of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. The LCMS abruptly canceled the show in 2008 and Lutheran Public Radio emerged a few months later as an independent ministry. It broadcasts live on several stations across the United States and on Pilgrim Radio Network, and is available as a podcast through iTunes. The Rev. Matthew C. Harrison, who was elected president of the LCMS in 2010, is a longtime friend of the program and appears regularly on the show. The interview with Bishop Jefferts Schori is available here.
