The House of Deputies has passed Resolution A067, which if approved by the House of Bishops would would fund a $210,000 project on theological education in the Episcopal Church. This study would include regional consultations with laity, clergy, and those for whom English is a second language.

The Rev. Jennifer Adams of Western Michigan spoke in favor of the resolution, saying it could unite the different ministry and education interests in the Episcopal Church. “This basically to convene a conversation that needs to happen,” she said.

Not all deputies spoke in favor. “We’re going to spend $210,000 for a conversation?” said the Rev. Canon Victoria Heard of Dallas. “I can’t see this changing anything.”
